Burnin
Privacy policy
Burnin was built so that this page could be short. It handles your videos, so here is exactly what happens to them, in the order it happens.
1. Who operates Burnin
Burnin is made and run by one person, not a company. For what this page describes, that person is the data controller under Turkish law (KVKK) and under the GDPR, and their identity is available on request at the address below.
2. The short version
- Burnin works entirely without an account. There is no sign-in anywhere in the app.
- Your videos never leave your phone. Import, transcription, speaker diarization, editing and export all happen on-device.
- The only things that reach the network are the one-time downloads of a language pack and the speaker-diarization model, and each carries no account and no identifier.
- No advertising, no advertising identifier, no third party analytics SDK, no profiling, and nothing sold or shared for marketing.
- There is no server-side data to delete, because there is no server-side data.
3. Everything stays on your phone
All of the following stays on the device and is deleted when you delete the app:
- Every video you import, and every exported video Burnin produces.
- Every project: its captions, its edits, its crop and resolution choices.
- The undo history for a project's current editing session.
- Downloaded language packs and the speaker-diarization model.
- Your settings.
Burnin has no way to read any of it remotely, because none of it is sent anywhere.
4. What leaves your phone, when, and why

5. Photos library access
Burnin asks for access to your Photos library to import a video you choose and, when needed, to save the exported result and to recover a project's source video if it has gone missing locally. It reads and writes only the specific videos you interact with through the app's own picker and export flow; it does not scan or read your library in the background, and nothing from Photos is sent off the device.
6. Accounts
There is no account system in Burnin. Nothing is signed into, nothing is registered, and there is no identity for the app to hold on your behalf.
7. Crashes and hangs
Burnin does not currently include any crash-reporting or analytics SDK. If Apple's own App Store Connect crash reporting is used in the future, that reporting is Apple's, governed by Apple's own terms, and this page will be updated before it changes what is described here.
8. What Burnin does not do
- No advertising, anywhere in the app.
- No advertising identifier is read, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown, because there is nothing to track you with.
- No third party analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
- No account, so nothing to sell, share, or leak from one.
- No cloud sync of any video, project, or caption.
- No reading of your contacts, calendar, microphone, camera, or location. Burnin does not ask for them.
9. Legal bases
Under the GDPR (article 6) and KVKK (article 5), the processing described here rests on:
- Performance of a contract, for everything needed to deliver the app you asked for: importing, transcribing, editing and exporting your video.
- Explicit consent, for Photos library access, granted through the iOS permission prompt and withdrawable in Settings at any time.
10. How long things are kept
- On your phone: until you delete the project, or delete the app.
- Support email: as long as needed to resolve the matter, and no more than two years.
There is no server-side storage of your data, so there is nothing kept anywhere else.
11. Your rights
Under KVKK article 11 and GDPR articles 15 to 22 you may ask to learn whether your data is processed, obtain a copy of it, have it corrected, have it deleted, object to processing, receive it in a portable form, or withdraw a consent you gave. Because Burnin holds nothing about you outside your own phone, the fastest way to exercise most of these is directly on the device: delete a project, or delete the app to remove everything at once.
For anything else, reach the developer through the support page. Requests are answered within 30 days, which is the KVKK deadline and inside the GDPR's.
If you believe your rights have been breached you may complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK Kurumu) or, in the EEA, to your local supervisory authority.
12. Children
Burnin is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect data from children under 13, and since it collects essentially nothing from anyone, there is little for that to mean in practice. If you believe a child has provided data to us by email, write to us and it will be deleted.
13. Security
Everything the app sends over the network, the one-time model downloads described in section 4, travels over encrypted connections. Your videos and projects never travel over a network at all, because they never leave the device.
No system is perfect. If you find a security problem, please reach the developer through the support page before disclosing it publicly, and you will get a reply.
14. What the App Store privacy label says
Apple requires a summary on the App Store listing. Translated into plain language:
- Data linked to you: none.
- Data not linked to you: none, beyond the ordinary network request needed to download a language pack or the diarization model, which carries no identifier.
- Data used to track you: none.
15. Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it, and a change that materially affects you will be announced in the app before it takes effect rather than after.
